What it means to be a Member Nation

Becoming a Member Nation of the World Waveski Surfing Association (WWSA) means joining a global community dedicated to the growth, development, and fair governance of waveski surfing

Member Nations:

  • Represent waveski surfers from their country at international events.

  • Have voting rights at WWSA Annual General Meetings.

  • Play an active role in shaping the future of the sport worldwide.

  • Gain access to support, resources, and recognition as part of an international sporting federation.

Our vision is to build a united, transparent, and inclusive sport where every nation has a voice at the table.

Membership Requirements

In line with international best practices and decisions adopted at recent AGMs, Member Nations must provide one of the following:

  1. Affiliation with your National Canoe/Kayak Federation

    • Waveski surfing is recognised internationally as a discipline of canoe/kayak.

    • Proof of affiliation or membership under your national federation ensures alignment with global paddlesport structures (e.g., International Canoe Federation).

OR

  1. Registered Waveski Association

    • Provide official documentation of your legally registered waveski surfing association in your country.

    • This pathway is available for nations where affiliation to a national canoe/kayak federation is not yet possible.

Additional Requirements:

  • Member Nations must remain financially compliant by paying the annual membership fee.

  • Member Nations must adhere to the WWSA Constitution and Competition Rulebook.
